Re: Another Kayak Day Trip! Sun 8-1
Seriously guys?!? You are doing this to me now?
I am leaving tomorrow (7-31) and will be gone through next Friday (Aug 6) going to Panama City with my gf and her family. I a going to be missing alot of stuff this weekend already on top of this kayaking trip to go as well. The CGR meet is this Saturday as well as the Eastman Gun Show will be in town this week as well. And now on top of all of that yall are going to go on anther yaking trip. With buying a couple cars this summer and vacations I have somehow missed every kayaking trip that yall have setup this summer. FML!

There will be lots more this year including some overnight ones(when it cools off some) and some coastal stuff too. Where exactly do you want to go tomorrow Kirt?

Short trip. That sounds like Amerson to Spring Street. It wouldnt take long and there is not a lot of technical stuff out there. Might be dodging the sand bars some:

I'll know in a little while for sure if he is going. I'll see if he might be up for a Juliette-Popes run. One weekend, we need to find the paddle time for Popes to Amerson.

Re: Another Kayak Day Trip! Sun 8-1
I just got a new book that is very detailed on ga paddling. It gives distances between put in/take out spots. Amerson is too new but Popes to Spring st is 14.0 miles. That would out Popes to Amerson around 12ish miles. Julliete to Popes is 9.8 so it would be an extra hour. I would like to do that trip too. Maybe we can do it in the next weekend or two.

Gonna take dad from Amerson this morning to spring st. So we can do the same later, or one of the shorter paddles. Damn, it's actually overcast this morning.

Re: Another Kayak Day Trip! Sun 8-1
I feel a little cooked. I'm seriously thinking of putting in at the pavillion just to fish that cut out. I have a feeling that there may be a spring feeding there. That water was way too cold to be just cool from shade. That would also account for all the fish. they love that cooler water, and fishe tend to feed at springs.

Re: Another Kayak Day Trip! Sun 8-1
Let me know when you do. I think that today would be an ideal type of day with the river feeling 80 degrees or hotter. Those fish were piled up in that cool water loving it. It was weird to look over there and a catfish just sitting in the open on a sandy bottom with no cover for at least 10 feet.
