Might Try couple of sites or drifing forums...

When it comes to drifting, imho, a fool and his money are soon parted. :)

But it is definitely a high-energy motorsport - you might join southeastdrift.com forum for chat among GA area drifters.

Drifting a MKIII is going to be a challenge. Very, very heavy car...

Building a drift car is a terrible idea.

How often do you think you will get to practice?
How often do you think you will compete?

Do what makes you happy man, even if others disagree or don't understand. Nothing at all wrong with being an individual in a world that stresses conformity.

I wasn't bashing you. I was honestly asking serious questions. I just like to look at things realistically. I really think you should think about those questions I asked. You don't have to give me an answer, but you should at least find out for your self. It's always good to think everything through before investing thousands of dollars.

To me its all about the money to happiness ratio. Are you going to be happy investing $15,000 and only getting to drive your car a handful of times a year? If so, build away.

There are plenty of drift cars that are not 240's. Those people tend to have WAY deeper pockets then most.

wanting something different is cool sometimes but there is the other side too there is really no one around here that shares that same interest if they do they dont have a purpose built drive car so you'd be goin to those events all alone.

I know all to well b/c when I got a racing four wheeler I had no one to ride with, its fun for a little while but the shit gets boring when your out there by yourself. Then I had a bike and had a handfull of people to ride with untill they either sold their bike, wrecked it, or moved. Then I had a bike and no one to ride with so it sat for months and months untill I practically gave it away.

If I had 15K to spend Id buy a car already finished. buy/build something you can drive and enjoy though in my expirience owning a purpose built anything is boring.

its alright kyle.. not a lot of people understand the pure awesomeness of drifting. ill be attending just about every drift event around. you are more than welcome to come too. and once you meet some other drifters, you'll never be at an event alone.

2 pretty big differences in suspension, camber, alignment, and tires between drifting and drag racing setups.

go to firestone get a life time alignment on the car and you can go from drift to drag alignment to autox alignment

how does a lifetime alignment work? Ive never heard about this.. Im sure they wont completely change your setup for different kind of racing whenever you want. They would loose soo much money if they did that.
