 Bhughes - 1988 Starion
1988 Starion 2.6 turbo tbi lil stock front mount.. Went to give it it's first tank of gas and discovered a leak on the filler neck... Car breaks up in boost. So far iv: • rerouted the vacuum lines so the vac adv is connected properly. •Iv checked the timing. •The ignition timing is extremely advanced but when set to 10deg btdc (base timing). Car runs super shity with no power. •Swapped out the 1g turbo eclipse maf for a stock starion maf. I'm trying to get the car back to stock as possible untill I get all the problems sorted out. Also going to e doing mostly non motor mods for a while. Don't plan on keeping the 2.6. Plan is to build a 4g64t using the wideblock 4g64 from the mighty max or van and a 4g63t head from a 2gen turbo talon or eclipse.

Is this that pretty cool looking car that I had never heard of that someone was selling on here a couple of weeks ago?
Do you have pictures of the car from different angles?

I love those rear fenders, looks like some sort of twisted/meshed up old Datsun Z car to me... I like it!

This car have a distributor or CPS with coilpacks? Also check plugs and their gap, might need to close the gap if it's breaking up in boost.

Looking good man, hope you get all of the problems figured out with this car. Glad to see you trying to get this thing in top running shape.

 Re: Bhughes - 1988 Starion
that is the plan actually. to do a 4g64 wideblock from a mighty max or old van. and use the second gen 4g63 turbo head and turbo/wiring/ecu. it actually bolts right in to the mounts and bolts up to the tranny as long as its a wideblock. reason for using the second gen head is the first gens have a CAS on the back of the head that is impossible to change once in the starion engine bay. and id hate to do the swap then have to pull my motor cuz of a CAS.
