 Anyone sell on eBay?
I think a couple people here have used ebay for vehicle selling before. I know Mr. Gibson has.
Anyone had any luck with it? I gave tried the Credit union bulletin, craigslist all over the place, and the car boards that I am a member on.
So far, nothing, and I am below book on the car now for pricing.
All craigslist has gotten me is scammers and people wanting to trade 10+ year old "custom" pices of crap. "should be an even trade with all I have in this ride"
Anyway, was looking at eBay, no listing fee for the first car you post, only a fee if it sells. But then I got to thinking, yeah, it's a bigger market, but seems like a lot of hassle that most people would not bother with, to buy a vehicle from somewhere else. Not to mention that there is one RedLine on there now with 0 bids after a couple weeks.
Any experience?

It is hit or miss with a car... You have to really market it right and stuff sells like crazy on eBay (car also). It is hit or miss with a item as large as a car if the buyer follows through with the sale.

Thanks guys. I started filling out the add today for ebay, but the damn thing was screwing up, even eBay support couldn't figure it out.
I gotta get this car sold. I have too many things waiting to be done.

 Re: Anyone sell on eBay?
I have sold cars just about everyway possible lol, My favorite way of selling a car is in person though. I have almost stopped using the internet to sell cars and have gone back to just driving the car with a for sale sign on the windshield and backglass. If someone likes it they'll ask me about it and ill give them a rundown. There are no hidden surprises what you see is what you get unlike craigslist or ebay.
I have sold several cars successfully over the internet but the first car I ever sold was on ebay and the buyer gave me hell about the car. It was fine when it left me but as soon as he got it it had all kinds of problems and he expected me to pay repair bills etc. I put in the ad plain as day "car is sold in as is condition" I complained to ebay about the harrassment I was getting and they blocked him. If you are going to sell a car on the internet make sure you state it is in "as is" condition.
The only other problem I had selling on the internet was when I sold the REEPENT corvette. I sold it to a woman in alabama and even delivered the car to her almost for free, I listed in the ebay ad I would include a brand new set of ZR1 wheels and tires for an extra $1000. She wanted the new wheels and tires so I threw them on the car and delivered it. She complained b/c she was under the impression that the wheels would be an extra set included with the car and another set of wheels. This is not what I meant or even said but she took it the wrong way and complained about it.
Other than that Ive had good luck, I sold my 67 RS camaro project car on the internet, my dads 1965 suburban on ebay, my teal 86 corvette was sold locally but the guy saw the car on ebay. It really is a great tool for advertising, you wont get as many views anywhere other than ebay. One thing I would also try is autotrader they are good at advertising your car but charge a decent sized fee. Unlike ebay you are only charged a small listing fee and a decent fee only if you sell it.

 Re: Anyone sell on eBay?
Thanks again Mike.
I have been parking it at my State Farm office on Russel, but I think this weekend, i may try the Wally Worls parking lot. Seemed to be a lot of cars over there a couple weeks ago and people actually out looking at them. May also put it back over at State Farm. I'm below book on it now, so lowering the price is out any more. Just gotta wait for the person who wants this car.
